Solar Power Generator

Solar generators use power produced by the rays of the sun. These is then used to provide electricity for home appliances, such as fans and radios. Unlike other generators, they can be used during power outages or in natural hazards such as storms or earthquakes. Solar generators can be used all the time. Another good thing about them is that they are portable, making them perfect for outdoor activities such as camping and picnics. However, solar generators have two requirements, access to sunlight and good climate conditions. Both can affect the functioning of solar generators.

The most important part of any solar generator is the photovoltaic modules. Also known as the solar panels, they are the ones that capture the energy produced by the sun. An individual solar panel is ordinarily composed of silicon. With new improvements in technology, however, a lot of solar generator producers tend to experiment with the use of other substances aside from silicon for the photovoltaic cells.

These cells are connected to a battery because this is the best way to keep energy in case adequate sunlight becomes unavailable. Batteries in solar generators need to be continuous or in deep cycle, plus they should rate more than 12 volts. These generators have voltmeters that are used to indicate how much power is produced. It is a good way to keep track of the amount of power the generators produce.

The inverter is another important part of a solar generator. Energy stored inside the battery is direct current, in contrast to alternating current used in appliances. This is where the job of an inverter, which is to convert the stored energy in the battery into a usable form, takes place. The solar panel then determines the amount of usable energy that can be generated by the inverter. Thus, it follows that if you want more energy, you need to have more solar panels because less solar panels means less energy.

The last important part of a solar generator is its plug. This AC jack is used for plugging the appliances that will use the solar generator electricity.

The main attraction of solar generators, however, is the silence. Unlike other generators that produce noise, solar generators function without producing any noise. They also produce no exhaust.
