Wind Electricity Generator

Wind is everywhere. It is available in any place at any time. The good thing about it is the fact that they are for free. If you take a closer look, wind is actually solar energy converted by changes in temperature. The rotation of the earth is also a factor in the wind phenomenon.

In areas where strong winds are experienced, wind generators are put up not only for conservation purposes but to take advantage of occurrence.

The structure of a wind generator is far from complex. Each turbine is put on top of a large pole. The pole is high enough so that the turbine basically looks like an old airline engine, which was popular way back when jet planes were not yet invented. At its forefront you can see a large propeller that is connected to its gearbox. The gearbox is then connected to an electrical generator with a wind gauge, which is connected to another generator for power supply. A yaw motor is welded in the casing inside the top of the pole, completing the whole setup of a wind generator.

A wind generator functions in such a way that the simplicity of its physical appearance does not and can never match the complexities of its inside processes. Winds that are about to go inside the wind generator brush the edges of the wind generators’ propeller, which then turns in reply to the winds departure. Along with this turning are the initiation of the gearboxes and the turning of the proper’s rod. The fast-motion it produces has slow torque while the slow motion has high torque in its gears. It then extends from one gear to another gear that is connected to a generator. While these two gears turn, they eventually generate a continuous electrical charge that can be used in giving power to the wind gauge. The wind gauge then determines the wind’s direction. The gauge is also responsible for sending signals to the yaw motor below. It also makes the entire case of the wind generator face the wind regardless of changes in pressure and the like.

Electricity is then sent below using a cable that is located at the center of the pole attached to the ground. The cable is then connected into a big battery that is locally attached into a power grid that provides the electrical needs of people within the area.
